One thing about Mattel, they're a huge corporation that have been around since 1945 and with their assets, they were the first company to spring for the multiple licensing necessary to produce the 1966 Barris Batmobile that even Danbury Mint at its height failed to do (even after an ad campaign promising such). When Mattel bought licensing rights (scale limited), they went all out to produce some high quality limited 1/19 Ferrari models along with their TRU low price range reproductions. Over the course of their run, they produced up to 3 different grades of different images... regular, Elite and Super Elite sub-licensing some to Kyosho yo be sold under the Hot Wheels brand. This Ferrari FXX, one of 30 produced in street or race(this model) form between 2005 to 2007. The FXX was an evolution of the Enzo. For $2.1 million, you could use the car but not really own it. When you wanted to use the car and Ferrari approved the event, it was delivered with a whole factory team. These cars were considered test beds for future designs, and those hand picked "buyers" were debriefed after each use as to its performance. Only the 30th car was given to private ownership to retiring driver Michael Schumacher as a reward for his services.

The crew chief was assembled, painted and detailed from a Tamiya F1 accessory kit.

The Hot Wheels Ferraris definitely evolved over time.  The early ones were basically lightly improved Bburagos (F40 & Testarossa, for example) and even the early Elites had details added to very basic models (Enzo, 250GT Lusso, 250LM), but the final Elites & Super Elites were fantastic models for their price points (599GTO, 250GT California Spyder, 308, 348 & 355).  I really wish they were still around.  Bburago/Maisto got the Ferrari license after HW & they've done very little with it.

I have the FXX as well & think its a great looking model...much better than the Enzo, on which its based in fact.  @rich-sufficool, I think we've discussed this before, but I believe yours is the Super Elite, correct?  Mine below, is the Elite.

@gavin There's definitely differences between our models so I guess you're right, Gavin.

@rich-sufficool...yup, yours is definitely the numbered Super Elite.  The Elites weren't numbered & didn't come in the cool display box, just the normal black Elite box.
