The 1974 Ford Falcon 351 XB Sedan Interceptor "Pursuit Special" was one of two remaining V8 Interceptors of the MFP ( Main Force Patrol ) driven by the "Dark One" Max Rockatansky in the post apocalyptic Australian Outback. It was the only car that actually survived the first movie. It was originally a Victoria police cruiser that received an L88 hood bulge with a NACA style cutout, a roof spoiler and interior roof console, wheel well flares, deep dish rear wheels and a custom light bar with loud speaker. Later, to lure Max back to the MFP, he was given the iconic blown 1973 600 HP Falcon XB coupe. After production this unscathed car was sold off and vanished into obscurity.
The guy at the bottom of our hill has one just like it.
You have the most exotic auto fleet in North America. I saw each of the Mad Max movies; the first and Beyond Thunderdome being more entertaining than MM2.
Lotsa action!
😊 the only memories I have of those movies are of the "talented and absolutely beautiful Tina Turner." I may be gettin old but I believe my priorities to be spot on 👍
This Greenlight is not too bad - for being mostly sealed - but I think a few other manufacturers also make this one in 1/18. 🤔 🤔 🤔
@perrone1 You probably saw the Gyro Captain (Bruce Spence) after Thunderdome if you remember him him as the "Train Man" in one of the "Matrix" movies. Wez (Vernon Wells) was later in a lot of action movies usually as the bad guy.
@perrone1 I have one more: The 1973 Ford Landau.
Is it possible you have a photo inadvertently and incorrectly mixed into the group of the Landau? The exhausts don't match up. The undercarriage shows the exhaust originating from the normal location of the headers/exhaust manifold, and the three-quarter front photo shows the exhaust exiting through the front fenders.
@marty-johnson Yep. The pic of the undercarriage is actually Mad Max's Falcon. I shot the pair together and I picked the wrong one.
@chris Both are very similar to the Ford Torino. I just noticed that Matador has the rare 330 HP 401 V8. That's pretty cool!
