Danbury Mint is not producing models anymore. The offerings they're presenting...

... are manufactured by 1:18 scale makers. Needless to say, DM has a huge customer list from the 1:24 clientele so they're capitalizing on their base to offer these models.

Mostly ACME. They purchased the old Highway 61 and some of the GMP molds.

Franklin and Danbury commission runs of cars through

Acme who has exclusive rights to Exact Detail tooling and any commissioned runs using Greenlight owned, Hwy61 tooling and some GMP tooling including GT Spirit tooling. Acme owns some GMP tooling and others. Im doing a commissioned run next year that Franklin is also tagging onto through Acme. As Marlow said, why not take advantage of that huge customer base they both still have. While most 1/24 collectors don't like the size of 1/18 using the nicer higher end tooling they are hoping it will satisfy most collectors.
