In another post I was asked to post a photo my F-1 cars. I only have 11 and none later than 1977. All have particular significance to me - generally the driver - although the first car in line, the Ferrari 156 was in the first race I remember seeing on television and it started my passion for racecars. My heroes, Hill, Gurney, Clark, Stewart, Andretti, Ickx, Lauda and Hunt are represented.
Of the 'cigar' cars the AAR Eagle is my favorite of the newer cars I like the Hunt McLaren the best
That is a very fine and focused collection ! A great display of both real and diecast automotive art and function.
You should share more photos of your collection, you have some nice examples of motorsports history to share. You help keep an era alive in others memories with your chosen collection plus you have some in your collection that many may have never seen before or did not know about. Keep it up!Â
@john3976 Thanks John - I realize that racing cars are not central to most of the collectors here so I try to pick my shots. I like racing cars because each one has a unique story and I enjoy collecting those stories.

I smiled when I read this Frank. In my case YOUÂ are 100% correct.
Despite my vast (not expert, but vast ) post-war American car knowledge, the hundreds of 1:1 cars my friend & I've owned, and my "many piece" scale collection I know VERY LITTLE about 90% of the cars YOU collect.  For sentimental reasons I LOVE your F-1 pic:  I'm reminded of some toys & slot cars I had as a kid.  😀 😀Â
Your post encouraged me to understand how many open-wheel racecars I have in my collection. Like you, I only have eleven cars, with 7 being F1 and 4 being Indycars. Unlike you, my cars are not necessarily comprised of my hero drivers but represent cars that interest me.Â
I hope you will continue to post your collection. For those who are interested in the history of auto racing, your collection and cataloging of each is a pleasant and welcome trip to the past. Â
@chris That is part of the beauty of boards like this we get to see and enjoy a whole range of automobiles. I realize that even fellow collectors can have a hard time understanding, for example, my Cobra Daytona Coupe collection. Or understanding that it was important to me to have, to my knowledge, the most complete collection of them in any scale on the planet. I do like seeing the postings of the cars I grew up with but with the limited space and resources I have I need to stay focused and race cars allow me to do that.

A very nice & accurate reply Frank, thanks.
To be clear, your "obsession" with any particular make/model is EASILY understood by me... What I don't know is all the significant history, pertinent facts & stats about 90% of your REMARKABLE (for a host of reasons ) collection that's over my head.  All I can do is appreciate your pics AND marvel at your display prowess.Â
