I saw this kit for the 1937 Auto Union Streamliner and bought it not knowing what I was in for. As you can tell from the poor photography, this was a good 30-odd years ago. It's a mixed media kit with a lot of tired castings with mold flash and a sand casted finish, Assembly alone was rather daunting. I never was able to polish the body castings to a proper finish and I just didn't have the research material necessary to see how every component was finished. I could never figure out how to mount the flip up wheel skirts and rather than glue them into place. I left them off. It's another of those almost finished models that are kicking around the house. I'm not really happy with the exterior of the model, but the guts look pretty cool. The 4th pic shows the working rear suspension that took me forever to figure out and make it work.

...yes, it's truly a kit on the edge  - a rare, scale, "20 footer."   😏 😏       On one hand, it has great potential, on the other, it's almost a caricature of itself.   I can certainly understand why you'd like it.    😎 😎 😎

Looks like a model ahead of its time with the machining necessary for a smooth build not quite there yet. Looks well put together with I’m sure, a great deal of effort.

Fantastic Rich. Your skills, and others here on the forum, are way beyond my wildest dream even when I was young.
