Harken back to those thrilling days of yesteryear when we used to get yearly limited edition club cars in 1/24 and 1/18 scales. At the time when Lane and GMP were morphing together, we got this beautiful 1970 Pontiac GTO Ram Air lV convertible. Back then, I was primarily a 1/24 collector and was just beginning to appreciate the level of detailing available in 1/18. This was the second 1/18 club car (or LECZ #2) and I was really impressed with the unusual parts count. The was the first time I saw twin brake lines from the master cylinder along with a fully plumbed and wired engine bay. I liked the seat belts with die cut hardware. The overall finish and textures were just spot on.
Does anyone remember the year of release and the total units of this LE? I've lost my sense of chronology over the years and our database has been rendered useless.
I didn't even know this was a club car. But, as ALL club cars were, it is magnificent!
...not being a fan of black interiors, I must say - there's something sinister-cool about triple black. 😎 😎 I have only one true triple black car, the Y-Job, in my 1/18 collection (hardtops don't count unless they have a black vinyl roof ).
So... um.... Where's pics of the top? You've only shown "double black." 😏 😏
- Stunning pics though!
@chris I'm counting the tonneau cover... SO THERE! HAH!!!
Rich, What a beautiful model, thanks.
