Our own Eddie Valdez got me thinking!

In his "random thought of the day" Eddie asked what racing event and what two drivers would we like to see? I'd like to dovetail his question and ask:

If you could take the great drivers from F1, and place them in the same race, who are they? What drivers would make the podium?

Oh, my, Marlowe, that's a REAL brain twister. There have been SO many greats over the years.........

I'd have to include (in no particular order) .....

1. The late, great Jimmy Clark, the Rainmeister.
2. The Wee Scot, Jackie Stewart
3. Stirling Moss, my childhood idol, if he's not from too early an era.
4. Dan Gurney, because he built and successfully drove his own F1 car (!)
5. Jack Brabham
6. Niki Lauda, the Rainmeister II
7. Michael Scumacher, of course
8. Graham Hill, even if he never won a single race because he just LOOKS like what an F1 driver should look like :))
9. Emerson Fittipaldi
10.Ayrton Senna, the Rainmeister III,
11.Alain Prost
12.Nelson Piquet
13.Nigell Mansell
14.Gilles Villeneuve

Pick a winner from THAT group? You've GOT to be kidding! :))

No argument that he was one of the all time greats, Paul. After our discussion .......

the other night, his name was the first to occur to me. My list was just off the cuff, and without an statistical analysis.

Did I leave anyone out?

And that's sayin' a lot, seeing as how Clark kicked his butt in his own back (brick) yard!
