No... not the salad dressing, but his 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB4 Competizione as raced in the 1977 24H Daytona. One of only 5 aluminum bodied cars, it was sold in 1971 to Scuderia Filipinetti. It was never raced by that team but rather was raced by privateers until Paul Newman purchased it in 1977. Newman & Co. finished a respectable 5th in the 24hour endurance race considering by 1977 it was a relative antique.. The car still had its original engine but over the years it was tweaked from 400bhp to 450bhp.
I look at Paul Newman and his life and in a lot of ways, he was Steve McQueen 2.0.... just maritally more stable.
