A beautiful car indeed. A drove one once on a track day. The performance...
...was remarkable, and was notably faster than an E-Type Jag I also drove that day.
Gold Finger 1962 Astom Martin DB-5 1962?
I am not sure of the Aston Martin time line of I think it was 1965? automobiles. Only that my dad and I went to go see gold finger and he left never thee same he was Mr gadget guy
there after. I rate Gold Gold finger as the pinnacle of the run of 007 movies which is why in Sky Fall they bring back the DB-5 it is an ear mark that has never seems to have left them the Identity of 007. my choice wa Sean canary hope I spelled his name right? to me he will always represent the official 007.
Bob Geco
Connery is the quintessential Bond but I think Daniel Craig is the best of the latecomers.
Roger Moore? Pierce Brosnan? Pretty boys.
Irregardless of their performance they still take my breath away. My buddies back in the mid 60's each had a 63 Jag Roadster and while I was overseas I ordered a 67 XKE through the PX. $6500.00 delivered. Never got the car though to my chagrin.
Ditto from me on those two.
I used to date a girl who's father owned a popular European dealership in Beverly Hills; he used to
let me take his daughter out in his DB5 so she wouldn't have to ride in my Austin Healey LeMans; he thought the DB5 was safer. The DB5 was made for Sunset Blvd.
I however treated him with respect and never abused the DB5.....I turned down many tempting road races which disappointed his daughter.......she loved to race with me in the Healey.
Mulholland and Pacific Coast Hwy?
Tom, no criticism intended, just thought the facts interesting.
Two standard setters in design, seduction and desire.
I've watched their show numorous times and they hold nothing back. No matter who the manufacterer was. Vids were very informative and something I never considered way back then in the sixties. My point........ They are still beautiful cars and I'd sure like to have owned one. Even with the overheating. LOL My one sister-in-law's husband has one of the very last Jag V-12's that came off the assembly line. Last time I saw it (maybe 15 yrs ago) it had less than 200 miles on it. Silver Roadster that to my knowledge has never left his garage.
Too crowded now with the crotch rockets
