There were some gorgeous convertible automobiles for 1953 and the Hudson and Packard versions have been beautifully produced in 1/18 and cream color by Highway 61 (Hudson) and Yat Ming. (Packard)

Mmm, I'll definitely take the Hudson what a beautifully designed car. Thanks for the pics Mike. 👍

You are welcome ! They are both such beautiful cars and are real standouts as convertibles. I could add to this with my 1953 convertible Buick Skylark from MotorMax, my '53 Ford convertible from Welly and my 1953 Cadillac Eldorado from Anson.

Yet, then it would be even more difficult to choose a favorite. They all are gorgeous convertible automobiles and diecast replicas.

I never got that Ford model and regretted it. I 101% ❤️ that Motormax '53 Buick. I wish that AutoArt had produced one. Steve

The 1953 Ford was extremely well done by Welly and I am delighted to have a top-down cream convertible and two top--up '53 Fords in red and in dark blue. Many years ago on the old Diecast Pub there was some talk that Revell may do a 1/18 diecast of this one but that never happened.

The 1953 Buick Skylark is beautifully done by MotorMax and has a working suspension. It's a cool automobile and AutoArt would also have done a great job on this car or any of the others, I'm sure.

Mike I have all of those you mentioned and love them all. While the Packard is a nice model it is somewhat smaller than 1/18 scale.

They are really nice replicas although both the Caribbean and also the '53 Cadillac (diecast originally done by Anson and the mold later used by Ertl) are somewhat smaller than 1/18 scale, and perhaps about 1/19 or so.

I have a 1947 Chevrolet pickup that is actually labeled 1/19 on the underside of the chassis. Solido was being quite honest as it is a bit small, although still being a very nice diecast model.

@chris

I've never seen the Vette with an up top. Did you create it ?

GOOD EYYE Steve!  😉

Yes, it was a "quicky mod"  that I haven't yet finished; it needs a bit more work AND, for 1953, it should be black.    I also made a top for my '53 Buick (very similar to the Eldo's ) but I couldn't find it this morning!  😡 😡

Also, the Ford was heavily modified with many subtle differences: I "un-zipped"  the rear window, removed the rear quarter windows AND the skirts, but left my other Welly '53 Fords alone.

Although I have 1953 Chevy Bel Airs, curiously... I do NOT have any convertibles.  😔 😔
