photo no longer available

On e-bay now. Not mine I have a BYC convert with the two shades of blue. Highway 61 must spray the doors, hood, and trunk in a different booth & color.

May I ask, did you get yours thru the mail? And, if so, why did you keep it? Thnx Bruce.

I would have been inclined to return it.

Yes I got it through the mail. And I did not notice the color difference for 6 months when I removed it completely out of the box and took pics of it, and noticed it. I figured too late to return. I just inspected it when I got it but I was looking for missing or broken or improperly installed parts and paint rashes, not color differences; I did after that though.

The doors, hood, trunk are painted separate on probably all die cast, so that they get paint all the way inside the jambs, etc'. Also the ones with spring loaded hood hinges would have overspray on them if hood painted "on" the car. We believe they hang the doors & other opening parts vertically, and the body horizontally (or the other way around)so "spray patterns" come in to play especially on the metallic colors.

As much as many collectors do not care for "closed cars" they do not have this problem.
