This is a really nicely done 1948 Chevy wagon as done by Welly. It was inexpensive but looks and displays great. I believe this may have been done in several different colors. Wagons with real wood in their exterior design weren't around for too much longer and this is a good replica of one of those automobiles.

@perrone1 I agree. For some reason I missed this one which is a mystery to me as station wagons and especially woodies are favorites of mine.

Yes Steve, they did.

In both cases the body tooling, along with some of the internal tooling (engine, seats, etc... ) are virtually identical but the chassis & wheels are different (Welly looking a bit more realistic ).     I have NO idea how this "sharing"  came about but I've seen it before.

For instance, Sunstar's 1953 Chevy tires are identical as those used on Motor City's 1947 Chrysler convertible.

Fret no longer Bob, there's still plenty around for practically no money.  Many years ago, I bought "a handful"  hoping to use scale hinges and "open up"  everything that's sealed - easy to do because I'd be cutting mostly plastic.   Of course, those projects got pushed aside in favor of other 1/18 projects.  🙄 🙄    One day.....
