Some years ago, Yat Ming did an exceptionally nice 1/18 version of the stylish, good-looking and hard-working GMC pickup truck of 1950. Here it is in a deep red color scheme :

...this is a good model and (for me ) another excellent parts source. Great wheels, engine, etc...

I've always wondered why GM chose NOT to have/engineer door vent windows on these (Chevy too ) pick-ups.

Does anyone know?

@chris Chris I don't know but I like vent windows. IMO they were eliminated because it was a cost savings.  My 55 Imperial and 63 T-Bird Sports Roadster both have them.

@bob-jackman Well yeah, all my '50's cars had vent windows as well as my cars up to 1968. Some Chrysler Corp. cars could be ordered with vent windows as late as 1971, I believe.

But why did GM designers eliminate vent windows on 1950 GMC & Chevrolet trucks?  I doubt it was a cost cutting effort (in 1950 ) but I honestly don't know. It just seems very strange.... 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤨 🤨 🤨

Perhaps it was considered quieter, although that is rather unusual for a truck. Or maybe the pull-open floor/foot well vents were part of the pickup package ?
