This is the 1956 Ford Fairlane convertible done many years ago by Ertl in 1/18 scale. It is a good-looking car and makes a really nice diecast replica. Ford was certainly hitting on all cylinders for 1956 !

Very nice!  The '56 Fairlane is my fave Ford of its decade.

Yes, it is a good-looking car and Ertl did a fine job with this 1/18 diecast. All of Fords 1956 line up is a terrific one and in various scales I have the Ford Fairlane, the Thunderbird, and the Lincoln. With this diecast, I did backwash the grille.

The 56 Fairlane spells Car-centric Americana. Forever beautiful. And, once again Mike, fantastic photo-art!

Most agree that the updated 1955 Ford looked better in '56.   Usually, style updates or "facelifts"  harm or add little to initial designs, but not in this case.

I've often thought about converting one into this vintage STOCK CAR - something, I'm surprised, Autoworld  hasn't done already.   It really wouldn't require much effort.  🤔 🤔

Nice pics Mike.

@chris You're right Chris, a stock car racing 56 would be cool! Love your diorama and transport photos!

They are all great-looking vehicles and part of the "Ford Family of Fine Cars", as the photo advertisement went that I think was staged at the Ford Rotundra in Dearborn.

I also have three of 1/18 SunStar Mercurys in convertible and hardtop form and they are also favorites.

@michaeldetorrice Yeah, I love that Sun Star '56 Mercury Montclair. It was the first car I ever owned.
