Despite the success of 1952-1954 Lincolns, by 1955 the design was dated. Management was hopeful that the 1956 Lincoln could be a real threat to Cadillac's dominance; they basically went from concept-to-production with just minor styling augmentation.
The angles & perspectives of this Lincoln in your pics leaves little doubt that 1956 Lincolns were direct descendants of FoMoCo's XM-800 concept.
I have never seen this concept car before...not sure why. They certainly took many styling cues from this one for the '56.

Yep, it's one of my favorites.... initially, this concept NEVER moved under its own power. Several years ago, a restorer purchased it (in poor condition ) completed the driveline and restored the car to its original glory. It's a real knockout!
