Here is a 1961 Chevrolet Impala, as done very nicely in 1/18 by SunStar. The last two pictures are of what a 1961 El Camino may have looked like. The car is not real and I photoshopped my SunStar '61 Chevy to look like this and recreate the look of a possible El Camino.
Thanks ! It would have been nice if a real '61 El Camino was built but it did eventually come back in full-size and then smaller editions. I bet someone could almost take a real 1961 Chevrolet and turn it into an El Camino. But it would probably be more valuable as a real Chevrolet.
I sure wish GM had carried on with the full size El Camino; at least up to 1963. I was very surprised that they didn't do a '61 to '63 Nova El Camino to compete with the Ford Falcon.

Full-size El Caminos during the time production was stopped would have looked great ! A Nova competitor for the smaller Ford Falcon-type car/pickup would have looked excellent, too.

That red Impala was one of my first Sunstar models. I was very impressed with it.
The '61 Impala in SunStar's regular line was really well done and also one of the earlier one's by them that I got, too. A good looking car and a good looking model !
