This is one of two Ertl Authentics '71 Chargers I have. Both have a 426 Hemi under the hood and this is the purple edition.

I was very disappointed when this body style replaced the 68-70 version.  Same for the Swinger.

Thanks, Rich. My '71 orange R/T 426 also has the same sunroof as my purple one.

I really like each edition of the Charger in it's own way. A classic ('66), succeeded by a classic ('68) and succeeded by another classic.('71) All beautiful and powerful fastback American muscle.

@jack-dodds I totally agree. I much preferred the clean lines of the '68. I think these '71s are just over styled.

Great pictures Mike. While I don't dislike the 71, I agree with Jack it was a let down from the earlier styled cars IMO. Having said that, this model is in my collection and I'm glad to have it.
