AutoArt did nearly as admirable a job on this gorgeous Mustang as your photos do!
Not bad, I can't say I remember this one, but I'm sure it sold well. AA's tooling for these 'Stangs was a 10! 😎 😎
Bob, that is the actual color of the 1/18 diecast auto, as AutoArt did it. I am not sure if that particular color was specified or requested by Detroit Diecast or whether it was a Ford color that the car could come in. It certainly was an eye-catching hue and looks good on the already cool Mustang.
Mike is the car really yellow?
@bob-jackman, its actually supposed to be Grabber Orange, the only color that the 1:1 came in. This is the 2007 Ford Mustang Saleen Parnelli Jones Edition. AutoArt's regular version of the model came with gumballs with #15 on each side, like the real car (though the real car had the stickers were in the trunk), in tribute to PJ's 1970 Trans-Am winning Boss 302. Looks like Detroit Diecast got a run without, which is very cool.
Fun fact, Ford didn't release the updated 5.0L Coyote V8 until the 2011 model year. The 2005-2010 Mustang GTs came with the 4.6L 300hp V8, so Saleen bored & stroked the 4.6L to 5.0L (302ci). A good friend of mine had one for a couple years (pics below). Fantastic looking cars, though owning a 2007 GT, I am biased. 😉
