Here is a 2007 Mustang Boss 302 as done by AutoArt. This particular version was being done for Detroit Diecast and I only had this beautiful model for a week or two to take pictures of it for them. During that time, however, I was delighted to see the AutoArt model's excellent details and great lines. The original 2007 Boss 302 is terrific subject matter, of course.

Very nice ! I missed out on that one 🥺
Very nice ! I missed out on that one 🥺
I think this particular version was done in a very limited run for Detroit Diecast (notice the DD 001 license plate) so maybe it was pretty difficult to score one when they came out unless one had placed a pre-order or reservation. I think the one I had was a pre-production example.

I've been a Mustang lover forever !
One of my best buddies, Mark Schmidt, his dad worked at a Ford dealership and had a brand new Mustang parked in his driveway every morning when our school bus would make its rounds.
Yep, this was when they were first sold...1964 / 1/2
Mark told me that his dad was told to park it outside..no garageing it, so neighbors could all go 'gaga' over it ! I thought it was the most perfect car I had ever seen since the 1963 Corvette !
And, I still do !
But, lol, I really like the 66 better with the redesigned front grill and those hash marks on the side just behind the doors.
IMO, that is one of the best cars ever designed and offered to the public along with the 69 Camaro the 63 and 64 Riviera along with the 66 and 67 Riviera and the 66 Toronado.

Great set of pics, @mikedetorrice! AutoArt did a really nice job on all their S197 Mustangs. I have most of them, but did miss out on the Saleens, unfortunately.Â
This is technically a Saleen Parnelli Jones Edition, which featured Ford's 4.6L bored & stroked to 5.0L by Saleen. From what I remember, the AutoArt came with the #15 gumballs, but the Detroit Diecast version removed these (the numbers were removable on the 1:1s).

Great set of pics, @mikedetorrice!
Thanks !
This is technically a Saleen Parnelli Jones Edition ...
Yeah, I think I recall now that the Detroit Diecast edition was essentially the "civilian" version of # 15 sans numbers. What a nice model and what a terrific real car to drive around in !
