PICS:Ertl/MIC 1971 Motown Missile

My Ertl/MIC 71 Motown Missile just came in and I must say I am very impressed. If you were pleased with the first 70 Motown Missile offering, the 71, arguably the most popular Missile as driven by the late Don Carlton, will not dissapoint. For starters, the stance of this beast is MEAN. The latest Mopar drag cars Ertl has done for MIC have incorporated a new lowered front spindle to give these drag cars an accurate race day stance. The 71 Motown Missile rests on a set of beautiful Fenton Mag Wheels in Firestone Drag 500 skinnies up front and thick slicks in back. The split front chin spoiler and rear wheelie bars are ultra cool new details added to the latest batch of MIC blacktop bruisers. Other familiar details include the removeable plastic-wish I was fiberglass-hood with the wild molded hood scoop, hood & trunk chrome plated locking pins, interior roll cage, dash tach, race shifter with reverse lockout, a detailed undercarriage with open headers and of course, who could forget the 50 year old detailed 426 Hemi for which these Mopar drag racing monsters were built. The exception with the 71 Motowns Hemi is the dual plug heads & dual set of plug wires. COOL!!! All of this comes wrapped in an exquisite yellow & black robe of race day livery accented with race day accurate sponsor tampos. If you're a fan of the early 70's Pro Stock cars, then you won't want to pass up the 71 Motown Missile from Ertl & MIC. It's number 5 in the Hemi 50th Anniversary Series, and limited to only 2,504 copies, so its sure to become just as hard to find as the other MIC drag cars in little time.

I don't know why but all I get for the pics is about 18 red Xed boxes. I really wanted to...

see those pictures. I have the '70"Missile" and it is like you say. However I never noticed those rims being so shinny in person. I spray mine wih Testors "dull cote". Much more realistic! And right on the '71 "Missile" is the one I remember.
