PICS - One of my favorite two-tones is this 3D printed Ford Econoline.

The 3D printed model only came with the body, doors, and tailgate. To make my dream vehicle, I had to either scavenge, fabricate, or modify all of the other pieces.

There is a ton of "Chris Moroni" style fabrication with this build. One thing I learned from Professor Moroni is how to make use of existing materials and parts. If the wheel covers aren't a dead giveaway, the eagle eye will note that the chassis is a Mustang unit but highly modified.

Yes, you guessed right. All of those 3D printed ridges would have to be sanded smooth. I lot of people have the wrong impression why my right hand and arm looks like Schwarzeneggar's. It ain't for the reason some think! Hehe!

I fabricated the "doghouse" to hide the SOHC Cammer engine! Mini magnets hold it in place.

The leaf springs had to be modified by shortening so they would fit under the Econoline body. Yeah, I cheated a little.

Since the engine needs to breathe, I fabricated a cold air shroud that directs air to the air cleaner via the NACA ducts embedded in the sides of the truck.

One of my favorite features is mounting "glass" over the engine so that the big Ford Cammer could be admired from the outside. It's a common feature with current mid-engine exotic cars ala, Ferrari.

The most challenging part of this build was to create the windscreen and mount it into the body. This was so difficult that I stopped working on this model for a couple of years. It sat in a box along with my frustration. I've never started a model that I didn't finish, and it kept calling me to "come back." I bit the bullet, worked out the solution, and put me on the road of finishing. However, this is something I never want to do again. I hated every part of it. Ugh!

I didn't want the traditional upright horizontal steering so I fashioned a steering column that is more traditional. And yes, as you can see I used an Audi R8 dashboard and modified it so it would provide the proper angle.

Yes, the seats have to tilt so there is easy access to the engine so it can be more easily serviced.

I'm guessing but I'd say approximately 200 hours. That would be about 1/4 Moons.
