PICs - Sharing My Collection... '55 Pontiac
I know I don't post on this forum often, I have sort of stopped buying 1:18 for the most part. Although I do still have a couple on my wish list.
This is the 2nd '55 Pontiac I added to my collection.
1955 Pontiac Star Chief Custom Catalina Hardtop

Great pics John of a Grand Slam Homerun winner from Sunstar. If anyone can come up to the plate and point out any negatives with this model, come on up and be the designated hitter. This Pontiac model looks like the 1:1 was magically shrunk down. Look at the beautiful chrome, the narrow gaps, the smooth paint, the hubcaps and I could go on and on. I'd love to know about the group of people that were responsible for treating us to this magnificent model at an unbelievable price point...ok..sorry. If you hadn't notice, I love these Pontiacs from Sunstar.
I to enjoy this model and appreciate your presentation John, keep sharing your 1/18's
Terrific images of this gorgeous beauty ! This is certainly a winner from SunStar and I had to get this hardtop blue version (and four different '55 Pontiac companions) .... just because. And also because my family had a '55 Pontiac when I was little !
Agree wholeheartedly with you, but the only thing on the model that seems strange to me is the exhaust pipe extension. I don't recall ever seeing one like this, in particular, with the red sides. I am not complaining or criticizing, just pointing this out. It could very well be just my ignorance of the part altogether.
Bob, I've never seen that on any car either. I guess I'll do some research. Thanks.
(Pic) The colors were much like this '55 Pontiac Chieftain, a darker blue/lighter blue combo. This isn't our car, but it was a 4 door like this, with an all-chrome swept-wing hood ornament. It was still running strong in 1965 when we traded it to an aunt and uncle. After that, it has disappeared into the mists of time, but there are pictures of it and I still remember !
