(PICS) When Harley Davidson and Porsche got together....the V-Rod
The Harley Davidson VSRC V-Rod was an attempt to woo non-traditional motorcycle buyers into the Harley fold. As a joint effort, it was sold between 2001 and 2017 and used a Porsche designed modern, liquid-cooled, dual overhead cam V-twin engine with a very non-conventional frame design and component placement (eg. the fuel tank was actually under the seat).
Although I'm not a motorcycle rider, I do think the V-Rod was an exceptionally beautiful and sophisticated work of art.
I also think Franklin Mint did a wonderful job replicating the bike in 1/10 scale, complete with working suspension, etc.

Beautiful Harley and model....
I never got into those FM bikes although I always toyed with getting the Easy Rider choppers.
This Harley I don't think I ever saw. I might have just bought this for its sleek design.
Kansas City MO Plant ....
I know a guy .... he worked in the HD KC MO plant for many years
He was very involved in this project from cradle to grave ( the plant shut down)
I was very lucky to have a tour of the plant and see all the behind scenes of this project
VERY cutting edge when this first rolled out
And at that time .. not really embraced from the hard core riders
But time change .. clouds roll in .. clouds roll out
And look where we are today ... Liquid cooled bikes everywhere
I worked for a HONDA dealership way back before the 1980 ... HONDA had radiator motorcycles
The V-ROD .. is very fast ....
I have a FEW ( F/M ) H - D motorcycles .. not all .. but a few
as a matter of fact, HD and Porsche already had connected during development of the EVO-engine...
I've never been a fan of H-D but I did admire the V-Rod. I didn't know...
... it was a collaboration with Porsche.
... Yes ... That is correct
