Alain Prost's winning 1990 Ferrari 641/2 #1 winning car chassis #115 now hangs at the NY Museum of Modern Art.
This one year only F1 car is one of only 7 built with 6 in existence. Another car on view is a re-liveried #1 car in the Ferrari Museum. Powered by a 680 HP 3.5 liter V12 coupled to a semi-automatic 7 speed, this was the first F1 car with rudimentary traction control. Despite being slightly under-powered and heavier compared to the Honda V10 (McLaren), the Renault V10 (Williams) and the Ford-Cosworth V8 (Benneton), it handled better than the rest of the pack. The chassis lived on in road car form as the F50.
Model by Exoto: (oh yes, the tires have valve stems. LOL)
Another great Exoto that no doubt thrills F1 fans! Detail abound, looks to die for - what more could a collector desire?
....valve stems are nice to see, however, most 1/18's have them. I'm impressed with valve caps! 😏 😏 😏
I'm thinking I'll let someone else stand underneath this wall art.
I'm thinking that it might be a new way to display more models by hanging individual models like the museum did. Oh well, just a thought.

Hi Marty,
Raining by you ? Just misting lightly here in Anaheim. Steve
I have the Nigel Mansell Ferrari 641/2 and the Nigel Mansell Ferrari 640 which was the first car with semiautomatic gear box, the 640 had reliability problems due to crankshaft flex causing the engine to throw a belt on the engine. Nigel Mansell and Ferrari did not expect the 640 to last very long in the race and Nigel Mansell even booked an early flight home, but the car not only lasted the race Nigel Mansell won the race in his first attempt with Ferrari. The rest of the season was plagued with reliability issues due to the crankshaft flex throwing a belt that was instrumental in the functioning of the semiautomatic gear box.
Here are some photos of the Ferrari 640 along with the 641/2.
@john3976 What a fantastic display!!! Can you give us a pic of the carrier?
@rich-sufficool The truck is by Road Kings, these are hard to find today. The trailer is by MNTrailers out of Romania. The cars in the display are two Exoto Ferrari 641/2 and two GP Replicas Ferrari 640, Tool boxes are from GMP the bodywork stands are from my AUTOart F1 McClaren MP4/6 and the figures are from American Diorama.
