This is a 1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in 1/18 from Ertl in their Elite line, which was in between the upper line Authentics Series and the standard line.
It is a very nicely done diecast replica of that year's version on the Monte Carlo which featured a V-8 engine. Several colors were done by Chevy and I believe at least two colors were done by Ertl in their diecast series.
Ho Hum; just your usual FANTASTIC photos! Each one worthy of being called photo art! Well done!
It's a nice Ertl model that's held up far better than the higher-priced Authentics versions, most of which have sadly deteriorated away. I don't know why Autoworld hasn't re-released these; I'm all but certain they own the tooling. 🤔 🤨 🤔
@rich-sufficool Yes, fantastic, but the $64,000 question is ..... Does this model still exist, or has it crumbled away? (assuming you owned it, and it wasn't a photo-shoot prop )
@chris It's still in it's see-thru box on a storage shelf and it still looks OK. Did you have a problem with the model?
There aren't many cars from this era that excite me but this Monte and the Cutlass are two of them! Very nice looking Monte Carlo model.
Did you have a problem with the model?
- Glad to hear yours is OK. I don't own this model; I can't find a good one NOR do I trust paying for one that "appears" to be good.
- Two versions were issued: Ertl's, like Mike's (dog-legs, etc.. ) and Authentics, like yours. Practically every Authentics release suffers from "diecast-cancer."
- As noted above, if Autoworld does indeed own the Authentics dies, I'm rather surprised they haven't simply re-issued this model. I'd LOVE to have a "good" one!
