Quality level of different brands of diecast

Left to right Ertl 63 Corvette, Exoto 67 Corvette, Auto World 67 Corvette

Here you can see the door seams on each, the black may be a little harder to pick up, but the Exoto nails it, the Ertl is second and the Auto World has big gaps. 

Again the door seams Exoto nails it, Ertl is ok and the Auto World has big gaps. The side pipes on the Exoto are great with excellent detail, the side pipes on the Auto World are poorly done by comparison, the Ertl does not have side pipes. 

The roof line is good on all three where the doors meet the roof when closed. 

Here you can see where the Exoto again nails it on the vent window molding being correct sized, the mirror is better and the side pipes are straight, the Auto World is second here with a decent vent window trim but is thicker than the Exoto and the mirror is thicker as well, the side pipes angle down with the rear of them lower than the front, the Ertl completely misses it with the side vent window trim being way to thick, the mirror is poorly done as well. you can also see the difference in the door seams from the side shot. 

The rims are another area that you can tell a huge difference in quality, the Exoto again nails it on the rims, the Auto World is second but they still are not close to the Exoto, the Ertl had a horrible set of rims and tires so these are replacements that are very nice shown on the Ertl. 

The Ertl was an inexpensive diecast, the Auto World is in the mid to higher price point range and at that money the issues with the Auto World diecast should not be there, the Exoto is a high quality diecast and carries the highest price of the three and the quality of the Exoto shows.
