Quick mod of very nice model
This was the AUTOart model of the Porsche 804 that Joe Bonnier drove at the German Grand Prix in 1962 wear #8 livery.
I removed the '8's, replaced them with '12's, painted the roll bar and ended up with the car Dan Gurney drove at the Dutch grand Prix.

That is a good question............
The only photos that I can find of this car at the Dutch Grand Prix in 1962 have Gurney driving it and with Gurney in the car you can't see the seat and rest at all.
Unless proven otherwise, I'm going with the interior as it is and the thought that the cockpit was changed to red during the season as they constantly modified the car to make it stiffer and perhaps to give Gurney a bit more room.
It appears that Bonnier's car was not modified as much as Gurney's, perhaps because of his smaller stature and lighter weight, so it is possible that after the first race Gurney got a different interior that was thinner in construction to give him more room and that the new seat and back were red.
I've done repaints on Porsche interiors in the past - like on the James Dean roadster - but for the time being I'll leave this alone.

I already have eight F-1 cars............
and like most of my collection they are cars from 1960 to the mid 1970s and focus on my favorite drivers; Clark, Gurney and Andretti.
I may fill in a few more and I'm looking forward to getting the Niki Lauda 312T Ferrari, that is supposed to be Hot Wheels 'swan song', but I really have only limited interest in anything newer than 1976 or older than 1960.
