I'm with you...I HATE black wheels.  They completely hide the detail of the wheels.

To me they look like someone's just too lazy to clean them and that's just a build up of brake dust

yup...and they look even worse when they are dirty.  I also hate when the tires have no dressing & are grey/brown, but the wheels are glossy.

"....plastic recreation.." may be too complimentary. This model has terrific shelf-appeal and I give Hot Wheels credit for tooling a removable rear-engine panel but engine detail is crude, very crude. Yes, yes... I know it's a "Toy R Us Hot Wheels" so no harm-no foul. Overall, it still looks really nice. And that front end is unmistakenly Cadillac!

Well, I like it ! And given the price point that HW is trying to cover, it's features are understandable.

It is powered by the Northstar V8.  You can barely make it out on the engine cover (if you click on the image).

Thanks guys.  Not a greatly detailed model, by any stretch, but I do think it was one of HW's very early 1/18 models.  I like the way it looks & nobody else made this LMP in 1/18, so props to HW!

Fantastic model I've never noticed before. I love the nicely done window-trim detail, scale body-mount trunk hinges, and the rims & tires are nice too. Those C-pillar vents are just plain cool.

I've got that metallic red one on the right hand side and I have to say it is one of the most beautiful models I have ever laid eyes on. Maybe it's not perfect, I don't know but I haven't found any faults with it. The paint job is 101% perfect. I'm so glad I didn't sell that one off with my collection.

Those UT models were at the height of their game. Especially at their price point.
