1969 Ford Mustang BOSS 429, this is the car that was built for Ford CEO Bunkie Knudsen. It is not confirmed if Knudsen ever took delivery of the car and drove it but if he did it was for a short time before he was let go by Ford. The car ended up on the Ford company sales lot where Ford employees could buy vehicles and it was purchased and driven by a Ford employee for a while before he sold the car. The car ended up having the 429 engine removed and was drag raced and after that point the whereabouts of this car are unknown but it likely ended up scraped and was crushed long ago.
Interesting fact about these BOSS 429 Mustangs, they were not really a success because the power band of the 429 engine was not right for street or drag racing and the 429 engine was just to heavy as well so the car did not handle well due to front end weight from the engine.
There is one distinct feature the Bunkie Knudsen BOSS 429 Mustang, if you look at the rear quarter panels this car did not have the air scoops on the rear quarter panels, this is because the Knudsen car was a prototype pre production car. There were 7 prototypes built.Â
The BOSS 429 Mustangs rolled off the Kar Kraft production line, Kar Kraft was a skunk works division of Ford Motor Company.Â
This car is from ACME using Highway 61 tooling.Â

@john3976 Beautiful model in a beautiful color....my favorite year Camaro.
@john3976 That yellow is perfect (I settled for gold, but always liked this more! )Â Â They're difficult to see, but are those red-line tires?
@chris Yes those are redline tires on the car. This was a 2003 Zone III release diecast. The color Mayfair Maize Yellow.
Mayfair Maize Yellow.
YES! I knew that but forgot.... thanks!
@john3976 That's a nice smoooth finish (you're lucky ). It seems most manufactures (including HW61 ) occasionally have a hard time with the color purple.  😔 😔

You might be 'plum crazy' or 'in-violet'ion for thinking that Chris.
