Arguably the most recognized brand and livery on the planet, I recently discovered I was there at its inception. Thai Army Radio was one of the FM stations that not only played American music but also provided the English sound tracks to American and British TV shows that were aired dubbed in Thai. Krating Tong ( I thought it was a beer) began advertising all over the airwaves and billboards. They sponsored a radio show called the Krating Tong Carousel with an English speaking DJ who kept referring to the brand but never offered a description. Hardly proficient in Thai, I understood the adjectives "most delicious", "pure" and "most satisfying" and still thought it was a beer. That "Krating Tong" translated into "Red Bull" only meant to me it was in competition with the popular "Singha Beer" which is a mythical lion. I only found out recently that is was THAT Red Bull and it aggressive advertising went global and became a phenomenon in Europe. It's sold now world wide with a different formula as the original formula was unacceptible to Western tastebuds. I'm only sorry I never tried it over there, but I had a bad experience with Singha beer. Early on in my tour there, I wasn't yet used to the water and I got a touch of dysentery my first night at one of the local watering holes. It was known as "Bangkok Belly". Note: It was relatively mild compared to "Montezuma's Revenge" and "Delhi Dysentery" LOL
Anyway, here's two models: a Dakar Rally Tuareg (Bburago) and a Porsche GT3 (AUTOart).
Two fantastic scale efforts that have to go together! That is, if you buy one, you MUST have the other, right? Terrific pics Rich and yes Red Bull is easily in the top 50 global logos..... however, Snickers will always be #1 with me. 😎 😎
