Remember when Ford went mid-engine ?
Partnered with an Italian sports car manufacture and an American V8 they made a winner!

Great looking car...great looking model...don't have it but wish I did.
David K Angeloni
they came with the Cleveland Mustang-engine, that suffered some serious overheating problems...
I'd love to have a Pantera. That and the Maserati Bora & Merak. Great cars.
Looks great in black on black. I've always liked the Pantera a lot.
Wish I'd grabbed this model, too.
DeTomaso Pantera
What a car !!. Wanted to buy one in the 60"s ( yellow), she said " no" to the car and a few years later. said no to me. This is a classic, Italian made, American power, ala Carol Shelby's modus operandi. The Pantera Mangusta had a spit rear window cover ( they used a piano hinge). The car hand many body fit flaws, the engine overheated et al. BUT..to own one is to love it forever. It only took GM 60 yrs. to get in the groove of mid engine., oh..except in the 80's with the Fiero mid engine with great possibilities till GM killed it.
I've loved and have obesssd over these Panteras since 1972. I still LOVE them !
+1
I came oh-so-close to buying a 1:1 in 1973! In an extremely rare show of maturity...
... I wisely elected not to buy one. If I had, it would have been financially disastrous. Still, I've always loved that car and I do today.
