The 2005 Chrysler Atlantic name conjures up the Bugatti T57S but more resembles the Talbot-Lago T-150SS teardrop designs of Figoni et Falaschi. Its inception began with a design Bob Lutz drew on a napkin and was developed by Tom Gale and Bob Hubbach.  Including a split rear windscreen and and a dorsal spine, it was true to the opulent grand touring cars of the late 1930s. The narrow nose sitting between the huge pontoon fender also necessitated a period straight 8 engine, The 4.0 liter engine was hand-built by fusing 2 2.0 liter Dodge Neon 4 cylinders and the resultant engine produced a GT class 360 HP. The RWD car, built on the SR platform (the Dodge Viper) it was given the 4 speed automatic transaxle borrowed from the FWD Chrysler LHS. The tear drop fenders house huge 20" front and 21" rear wheels. The body was fabricated in California by the Gaffolio Family Metalcrafters. The very driveable car exists today at the Chrysler museum and is occasionally shown at events,

The model is an early Guiloy so it's a bit rough around the edges and is devoid on side glass but does have some surprising features on interior including seat restraints with die cut hardware.

Fine images of this visually striking automobile and replica of it. I recall I nearly picked up this (1/18) diecast back then.

An old favorite that sits facing my BoS 57SC in my display.

IMO, the design still holds up....  and why wouldn't it?  😎 😎      But just as a matter of reference, I believe that museum (in Michigan ) to which you refer was closed about 10 years ago.   As far as I know, the collection was put into storage.    Occasionally, however, specific cars are shown at Chrysler facilities and related events throughout the US.

It's not part of my preferred list, but I liked it enough to buy one, last month.  It's really rather nice.

@100ford2003 I agree Steve. I think it would have made a fantastic halo car for Chrysler.
