"Jota" is the Spanish pronunciation of the letter "J" which I read is a letter not used in the Italian alphabet. It stands for the Appendix J of the FIA Rules and regulations that govern race cars. Besides this one-off Miura SVR Jota, Lamborghini utilized the Jota name for race versions of the Diablo and Aventador. As to the Miura, test driver Bob Wallace converted a Miura P400 to this race version adding aerodynamic features to the Bertoni/Ghandini to keep it on the track. The 3.9 liter V12 was bumped up to 440 HP @ 8800 rpms with a lightened aluminum panels and chassis, Plexiglas windows and magnesium wheels. It was basically a test bed and never raced. It was sold privately in 1972 and completely destroyed in a crash and fire in Spain. Much of the features of the Jota were incorporated into 6 special Miura SV/J at the factory.
