Some fun with wheels
You don't need to spend a fortune on every car you buy to get a model that you can display proudly although if you are me and it is a 'street car' new 'shoes' are always an option
First up is this 'budget' custom Corvette by Maisto that I got for less than $30 at COSTCO a while back.
I put some racing wheels and tires on it and gave it an attitude to go with the engine it came with
The only problem I have with the model is that I have to keep it separate from my other Corvettes because it is more like 1:19 or 1:20 scale than 1:18
Next up is a model from now defunct manufacturer Lane. The car was pretty great right out of the box but I liked it even better lowered a bit and shod with TT wheels. I also removed the running lights from the grill and gave the model proper tags

Interesting question.........
I did this one a long time ago (2004 to be exact) and I think it was because I had photos of a Shelby GT350R race car with that look.

Always liked the racing wheels better...........
Put them on both my GT500 and GT350
