A week or so ago, I remember participating in a conversation about storing 1/18  (or was it 1/24?) models away from dust and such, but with lighting.  Today, I received a new case and before I fill it up I thought I would show how a 1/18 or a 1/24 model can be stored in the 1/43 diorama.  I wish I could remember where the discussion was taking place, but my mind has some limitations when it comes to memory, so I'm posting the results here.  The first image is the actual diorama 'garage/showroom' and the second one is the diorama with a 1/18 BOS Bentley inside it.  The third shows a 1/24 Packard in the same diorama (without the Bentley, of course).  I would probably only put a 1/18 convertible inside this case because the roof blocks out the overhead lighting for the larger car.  Anyway, I hope the person who was considering this option will stumble across this thread.

I forgot to mention: these dioramas can be connected together, to run off one switch, with several different lighting options.

....yes indeed.  I originally posted these showcases on the 1/64 Forum and some discission followed.    I NEVER thought, however, that a 1/18 would fit, but here we are!      Regardless of the scale, these displays look mighty nice.  😎 😀 😉

@chris  I just ordered another one and if I want to keep the BOS Bentley 1/18 in one of these - eventually - I would go to the DIY store and cut four new, taller, pieces of plastic for the sides and front, and raise the ceiling two more centimeters.  The 1/24 would be fine in the current configuration, though I am not considering this option, at the moment.  For now, I want to get all of the 1/43 around the desk 'under cover.'

The best stackable display cases 360 degrees view were made by Franklin mint and intended for 1/24 scale. In the heydays, they were expensive but I bought many of them for my 1/18 CMC and Exoto models.

Here is a picture of one for sale on Ebay.

@gdh For 1/43 scale I have Carney 5 models 1/18 display cases mirrored back wall mounted units. I display no more than 3 models at different angles per shelf and the look of my collection is not cramped.  They are of very high craftmanship and completely air tight with hinged front opening panels.

I use Carney wall cases for the vast majority of my models in 1/43,1/24 and 1/18 scales. As Richard says, they are a high quality item. My 1/18 scale models are displayed in my garage using various sizes to best accommodate the most models. There are approximately 1200 on display there.

@nickies   Oh blessed be those with large houses...  Unfortunately, space is an issue in our humble abode and display space is limited.  Even wall space to mount cases is minimal because of the large number of paintings and such we have on the walls, so I will have to be creative.  Thank you for the tip, though.  It may come in handy if I redo the workshop next year, and move everything into it.
