Bet you thought you'd be looking at a 1957 Plymouth. Actually, this is Sunstar's 1960 Plymouth. Looks like everything was replicated.... lot's of details in & out. The mis-matched door paint, weak trunk spare, and too-tall front seats are this model's biggest faults, otherwise.... not too shabby.
I have a couple of these sensational SunStar 1960 Plymouth diecast models and one of them just like this beauty ! It definitely is really great to get a Platinum 1960 Plymouth in 1/18th.
That's a nice model despite the concerns. I have that one in those colors. I haven't really paid much attention to my 1:18 scale collection for a while (they are still packed away) I was surprised to find I have three '60 Plymouth models. This one, a yellow open convertible and my favorite is this one.
It's a true beauty in both 1:1 and also in 1:18th form here. A really excellent Platinum Series release and I certainly like the top-up convertible form of this one.
Terrific pictures Chris. I am not a fan of the 60 but I think the model definitely does the 1/1 justice.
I felt the same way for many years, always thinking the '60 was a bastardization  of the 1957 dream-car look. The more I learned about this car, however, the more I learned to love it.

I've had mine for years. Initially, I figured on tackling those "sky-high"Â split-front seats, but was stymied when I couldn't figure out how to convincingly reproduce that "cloth"Â design pattern.Â
I hated those skirts too (that was an easy fix ) and I added a bit of paint to better hide the gap between the C-pillar and the body.Â
"....surprised to find I have three '60 Plymouth models...."  I can relate to that. At least you didn't buy duplicates (not realizing you actually already own it!.... that's happened to me! 🙄 🙄 🙄)Â
I like your top-up convertible. Should I ever buy another '60, that's the one I want.

Yes indeed, Sunstar has botched a few Platinums, but not this one. Hardtop, convertible-top up or down..... they all look great. Oh, how I wish they'd do a 1959 AND a 1961.... but the odds are NOT in my favor. 😫 😣 😫

Chris, while you're modifying the height of the front seats, you might want to address that steering column angle too. I think it could be dropped a bit so the angle is more vertical and less horizontal. LOL! 😉Â
@marty-johnson ...yeah, now that you mention it....  That steering column is a bit too elevated. 🙄 🙄  (I think you meant more horizontal and less vertical... right? )
