The D-Type Jaguar in both long and short nose variations. They battled Ferrari for dominance in the mid 50's

These models are both by Autoart. Both were customized by me to make them more accurate.

I've always liked that you are willing to add necessary detail for added authenticity... I can relate.  😏 😏

This post reminded me of one of my earliest Matchbox Toys

@david-green I also have the 1956 Le Mans winner but although handsome it is a sealed model and not nearly as satisfying as the Autoart models

I have the blue #4 short nose by CMR as well.  Great looking model, but the AA's are incredible.

@marty-johnson I remember your initial (incredible ) post.  This particular replica will be praised 100 years from now; a showstopper without equal, period!  Auh, are we certain that it doesn't run?

@chris - I tried to start it, but I think the battery is dead 'cause it ain't turnin' over.  😆

Seriously, it is, without a doubt, the most detailed model I've ever seen in 1:18 scale.  And, I believe the D-Type Jaguar was Exoto's last model.  Nothing has been produced since its introduction.

@marty-johnson This model was indeed Exoto's finest. If it had been the long nosed version I would have gulped and spent the money. The price today is out of the question. The Exoto site claims they will come out with the long nose, though without livery for $2,500.00!!!!!
