Ever since 1966, I'm still totally enamored with this George creation. I watched that goofy Batman series religiously just to get a glimpse of that car. I waited over 40 years for some entity to pay the expensive licensing fees that DC Comics, Warner Brothers and Greenway Productions demanded for a replica and Mattel finally paid the freight. I wonder if these companies finally lowered their demands if only that the fans of the show and the car are literally starting to die off. When this Hot Wheels model finally hit the streets, it made me think, "Now I can finally die happy.". The model has now a position of honor parked with its genesis, the Lincoln Futura. Yeah, I'm a nutcase.
For me, this was a MUST-have model and was very high on my wish list! I remember when the Batman series trailers were shown prior to airing. They showed footage of the Batmobile exiting the Bat Cave. I remember how pleased I was that the car didn't look like the cartoonish Batmobiles depicted in the DC comics. Unfortunately, the show was wayyyyyyyyy too silly and camp for my tastes and was a thorough disappointment. Still, the Batmobile held enough interest for me to watch the episodes, anyway.
@marty-johnson OK, what's the deal with this one.... the taillights shouldn't be there, only larger logos? Did you ever purchase it, or was it deemed "too incorrect?' 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔
