this is an Ertl Camaro that was a victim of diecast cancer. Instead of tossing it out I repurposed it for future diorama's

...correct.  Despite the loss, it's not "total."   There's always something that can be salvaged and/or repurposed.  Your Camaro is a great example.    If you're inclined, you can eventually go this route.  😏

I totally agree.  On some of my past projects, where I've stripped the model down to bare metal, I sometimes just wanted to keep it in that state.  There is something so natural and raw about how it looks.

The "completed primer stage"  is a welcomed sight, and quite the milestone, during any project.    I don't believe I've seen this pic before - NICE!  😎 😎 😎

@chris

If I remember correctly you modelled that 150 after your Mom's 1:1.

@chris - As you know, another good thing about primer is that it shows the flaws that require attention.  Sanding, filing, sanding, filing, sanding, filing, and sanding some more!  After that, more sanding, filing, sanding, filing, and more sanding!  Yeah, that's why my right arm looks like Schwarzenegger's and my left arm looks like Pee Wee Herman's.  LoL

You're right!  It was Chris' tribute to his Mom.  If you'll recall, Chris went all out on that model.  He actually created a functional dipstick with real oil in the crankcase!

Steve, Marty....   yes, that's correct.       Sadly, I've never been able to locate the two photos I saw (as a teen ) of her car.     Marty always appreciated that dip stick!     😀 😉 😀
