I finally stumbled on this '67 Ford Fairlane GT 390 with 4 spd. This was the first of GMP's Fairlane variants and it was so poorly received that only one run was made. It was trashed because the cognoscenti claimed the GTs came with bucket seats only. As was found later, you could have bench seats w/o center console on that GT trim package. GMP sent me probably all the iterations of their Fairlanes including the GTAs and 427 drag cars. What set this one apart for me was it's the only model with pneumatic tires that when you dropped from an inch or so, acted as a real car would. At rest, the slight flattening of the tires also gave a proper footprint. I was so tickled by this unusual phenomenon... I called it "fun for the feeble minded". LOL
Well now Rich I'll have to go out to the garage this afternoon to check the tire pressure on those tires. Love this model and the pictures.

Ha-I can relate! Revell released a 1/25 1982 Firebird T/A model that featured the softness, most supple 1/25 tires I ever saw. They would sag under the weight of the PLASTIC model. Like you, I became fascinated by this. It was so cool to see SCALE sag! 😎 😎 😎
GMP Fairlanes are very nice and VERY heavy. 😏 😏
It is a great-looking automobile and diecast replica of it. It looks extremely good in any color and with any option set up in my view. The tires are remarkable and technically, probably any diecast model doesn't really attempt to have the tire inflation realism that this replica has, lol !
And a word of caution for all GMP soft-tire cars. Rotate those puppies or over a period of time, they will flat spot. Ask me how I know about my expensive 1:12 Shelby Cobra!
Marty, try displaying it with tires / wheels off on top of some concrete colored Legos 🤣

Sorry chum, no sympathy from me. Those are true knockoffs in 1/12 scale; there's simply no excuse for flat spots - display the car on jack stacks or remove the wheels. You silly goose! 🤨

Dang, I didn't even know that there was a 1:12 scale Cobra ! Steve
@100ford2003 - Here are two in 1:12 scale. The #98 is GMP, and the other is Kyosho.
Chris, are the spare tires the right size in this scale ? 🤣
