The first days of 'Pebble Beach's week of Concours 'd Elegance is filled with car watching......pic
the hub of excitement is the entrance to the famed Pebble Beach hotel.......the excitement of waiting to see the main event on Sunday is temporarily blotted out by the exotic cars driving in a constant stream in front of the hotel or a few miles away in downtown Carmel.
The parking lots host their own 'Concours Car Show' and are filled with exotic cars that would make Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills look like downtown Burbank California. I have never seen so many Rolls Royces, Bentleys, Maseratis, Lamborgghinis, Jaguars, Alfa Romeos, Porsches, Aston Martins, Bugattis, Corvettes etc in one concentrated area (Monterey, Carmel and surrounding area for the week of the event).
I would suspect that tourists who didn't know it was Pebble Beach week would get the impression that All Americans were billionaires.......the sales in 'extreme exotic' cars ($125K to $3m+) has obviously risen in the past few years....it was amazing.

It was a quick show and tell and then a brisk move your car along.....
The hood quickly fly up like a woman's skirt in the wind....and like such, the glances are sharp and quick..

Unfortunately, classic cars sometimes have classic breakdowns......
I am sure the old saying 'Not now damn it" was going on in his head....
"$600 hundred thousand dollars....what was I thinking"
Not to worry......thousands of experts on hand
Mean while booths we're being set up all over the place....

Back in January, Concours reps asked our
Fisher Body Craftsman's Guild alumni club if we could pull together an exhibit at this year Concours event and we concluded there just wasn't enough time to put together a quality exhibit. Maybe in 2014, but we already have 3 events asking us to support exhibits in 2014.
