26 of these beauties were built between 1955 and 1959 with 3 distinct body variants: 11 short nose cars; 4 interim cars; and 18 long nose cars of which 7 were factory conversions of existing chassis #s 3056-3077. The chassis tag on this CMC model reads: 3058. Early cars were powered by a 240 HP 2.8 L DOHC straight 6 with 3 2bbl Webers which was a bored out engine from the prior 350F. Later models got and upgraded 260HP 3.0 6 as well as larger drum brakes. After continually running second to Ferrari, save for Stirling Moss' victory at Nurburgring over Juan Fangio's Ferrari in 1956. This model was succeeded by the 450S.As time went on, almost none of the 300S cars looked exactly alike and I assume this CMC model of chassis #3058 probably replicated a restored museum piece.
Listed as a proper 1956 chassis number that was converted to the long nose body, this mixed media model is composed of a whopping 1838 individual parts. I can't begin to tell you what all these parts actually replicate, but it's sure amazing to look at.
What a beautiful model, I think I'll see if any are on Ebay and what they are going for.

Among the best 1/18 replicas ever crafted on earth; it's simply breathtaking by any measure. Rich, your pics are next-level good!
CMC did a phenomenal job on this stunning and astoundingly detailed model. The red is a show-stopper and would be a real knockout in one's display area.
@chris Something doesn't sound Kosher. If it is all it's listed as, condition-wise, I'd jump on it.
@rich-sufficool ...yeah, I did a bit of trickery and altered that price, just to see who's paying attention. 😊 😊 😊 Give yourself a star! 😀
