Chrysler's 1995 Atlantic concept car was somewhat of a tribute to the '38 Bugatti Type 57SC of the same name. It was even powered by a 4.0 liter straight 8 made from two 2.0 liter Dodge Neon 4 cylinder engines, although that came about because they couldn't cram a Viper V10 into the thin body designed by Bob Hubbach and fabricated by Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters of California. Oddly this wildly impractical car was built in steel so perhaps there was some thought to a limited production. Coming on the heels of both the Viper and Prowler, it may have been more than a thought. The model is by the Spanish model company, Guiloy.
Thanks for the history on this one Rich. I did not know about the Neon originating power plant. It is a more impressive car than the Prowler, I think. Too bad it was not conceived a little earlier.
To my eye this car gives a first impression of perhaps being Jaguar based. I like it!
It looks fantastic ! Both as a Chrysler 1:1 and Guiloy 1:18, it's a gorgeous/sensuous vehicle with an innovative 8 cylinder engine. I almost got this one in 1:18 many years ago.
I attended the dealer meeting where this was introduced. It was spectacular. They considered producing them in very limited numbers.

@jack-dodds I have long thought that Jaguars were heavily influenced by Delahaye and Lago-Talbots of ten years earlier. Hence late '50s Jaguar saloons look like late '40s Delahaye saloons. And the E-Type coupe could be construed as having a gestation in Saoutchik's late '40s Lago-Talbot's - or even the late '30s Lago-Talbot goutte d'eau bodies by Figoni Et Falaschi. Doubtless there'll be views that differ, which I'd be pleased to hear.

What a shame that they decided against doing that...what a statement they would have made!
I sat in the 1/1 at the St. Louis Auto Show and was most impressed with the fit and finish of this beautifully designed automobile. I have the model and it does the 1/1 proud.
What a beautifully designed automotive masterpiece !

@david-green That composite engine was dyno'd at 360 hp but those that drove it complained the car was painfully slow.
A great car that I never saw in person (at least I don't remember ever seeing one ) but my wife did and fell in love with it. At one time, I really thought Chrysler was going to produce these.....sadly, I was wrong.
