It is a great place to start a Daytona Coupe collection CSX-2299 was the most successful of the six Shelby Daytona Coupes - a car I have come to know quite well as I have bought and/or custom made a model of every race in competed in in 1964 and 1965

The Daytona Coupe captured my imagination all the way back in 1964 - I covered my bedroom wall with photos and posters of it - I discovered 1:18 scale diecast in 2003 and my passion for the car, and the cars that ran against it, returned. The Exoto mold is a bit dated now but it is still a fair representation of five of the six that were produced.

I remember stumbling on to these Exoto Daytonas at a model show way back when and I was just blown away. Not only was it a long sought after image, but the fit, finish and parts count was something i'd never seen in 1/18 scale before. They were $99 apiece and I emptied my wallet that day and bought a couple. I acquired a few more over the years because I just can't get enough of that beautiful design.
