No one cares about lights and sound? Really? Man, I'm shocked.

In theory, it's pretty cool, but........

it seems like it's more suited for collectors of Hess trucks. It kinda turns a decent model into a toy.
or is it just me?

Good point Rich but I view this more as "a beginning." I'm sure others will follow which will......

...mean increased sophistication regarding electronic installations as well a higher "non-toy-like" level of detail.

As for this GL Crown Vic, I see that everything (doors, hood & trunk) can open (after all, this is the same MM mold) but I'm not sure that it does. I see no holding straps when I study the packaging. Serious collectors will want opening features.

If the price is right, these should sell. Now...When will we see a Sun Star Platinum series model with lights & a horn? Hmmm....

Very cool ! It's great to see innovation like this and it can be a wonderful effect on a diecast car. It would be fun for photos and I can also imagine a dimly-lit display area with ones cars illuminated with these FX. Friends and visitors would certainly be impressed !
