This 2007 Porsche 911 (997) GT3 Porsche Design Mobil 1 (88) VIP Car is a real car and has been modeled in different scales. It was built for the annual Porsche Super Cup race and evidently was a project car of the Porsche Design Team. It has the same 3.6L Boxer-6 engine putting out 394 bhp @ 8400 rpm. It's all dressed up as a "VIP Car". I found pics and specs for the car but nothing about who drove it and what defines "VIP". I'll assume it was driven by someone who qualified as a VIP but I have no idea how that person would be chosen. Anybody?

I don't know the Very Important Person namesake, but it is a fine looking car from Porsche. Plymouth in the mid-Sixties I recall offered a V.I.P. version of their big Fury named exactly that. I think it was basically a top trim option.

...great model!  Who drove it?  I suspect many hands from that Porsche Design Team  went up, right?  (nice pics!)

As much 2007 Porsche Super Cup as I could find, I found one factory entry in a sea of GT3s and one Carrera, but I couldn't get a number to go with it. I would still like to know how the VIP is picked to drive it. There are no name(s) on the car either. It may also be that the Porsche Design Team does one each year as I've seen a similar liveried Super Cup GT3 from a race a decade later.

AA did a great job on these GT3 Cup cars...I've had 4 different liveries, but am now down to this same matte black one.  AA did make this black one, sponsored by Porsche Design, a green one sponsored by Porsche Engineering & an orange one sponsored by Porsche Consulting.  No clue who the drivers were though.
