My goodness! 1:16 scale.
...not much difference between this and a small aircraft on autopilot. 😏
- I totally agree. I'm also wondering what the cost of something like this is. I'm guessing it has to be somewhere between $50k and $75k. Further, the reality is that R/C planes do crash, and they do so regularly. How does someone sink that kind of money into one of these (Billionaire Tyler Perry excepted) knowing that as an R/C, its demise is close by?...not much difference between this and a small aircraft on autopilot. 😏
OMG....this thing could take out dozens of spectators! I would LOVE to see it operated!
They keep getting bigger. I used to watch a few of the RC aircraft channels and this is bigger than the biggest RC I have ever seen, but not by much. It almost has an AI look to it. My first thought was what Chris said; it appeared the size of a small 1:1 aircraft. Absolutely amazing - thanks Marty!!
The engineering in that craft is mind blowing. The operation of the myriad of sub-assemblies all working in unison from that little control panel in what seemed effortless... Just amazing. I guess you're right, Marty. Something almost has to go wrong, no matter how extensive the preflight checks are and what a heart break to see it crash. This guy is not just an R/C modeler, he's an aeronautical engineer, building something that would normally take a team of hundreds to produce despite the scale.
Thanks Marty. Absolutely amazing.
Jumpin gee hosafat...that is just about unbelievable !!! I'd love to see it broken down for transport.

Before the show that day, early in the morning, I took these pics:
