This 1936 Panhard et Levassor Dynamic Berline was certainly wild and different. Panhard automobiles have been a French staple since 1887. Wings are the statement being made on this Streamline Moderne, Louis Bionier designed saloon, with its split A pillar, 3 piece windscreen, wide unibody, CENTER steering wheel, 6 passenger sedan. It has stylized wings on the sides of the hood, a winged hood ornament and tiny winged birds atop the headlamp grills. The inline 6 could be had from 2516cc to 3834 cc with the larger engine putting you in a higher French tax bracket. The center driving position was supposed to provide better driver visibility with an added benefit of being legal in both LHD and RHD countries. Panhard always had reputation for both quirky designs and cutting edge technology... and this car defines "quirky".
Model by BoS.
That's a superb model and there certainly seems to be some Chrysler Airflow influence it it's streamlined design. A very cool replica to have.
I see some Auto Union & BMW influences too. Gorgeous pics Rich, those headlamps are amazing! See-thru-A-pillars..... I love it, center-mounted steering....not so much.
