Take last year's (1923) Indy race car and give it to DMG's new Chief Designer, Ferdinand Porsche for a makeover to prepare for the 1924 Targa Florio. Reworking the suspension and juicing the supercharged 2.0 liter inline 4 cylinder to 126 HP. Lastly, ditch the required German national color of white and paint it Italian red to fool the locals who would normally pelt the car with rocks. And, Voila! You got a winner!

Wow, "my" model never looked better! I have this one, but my pics NEVER looked this nice! I've always loved this story about the red paint, pretty clever. A few months back I tried to remove a few wheels but the "knock-offs" seem to be stuck. I didn't want to force anything, so I gently set everything down. I wonder if something rusted? I used to be able to remove the wheels with ease. 🤔 🤔 🤨
@chris Interesting. After you removed the wheels once, why would you want to do it again? Inquiring minds want to know.

Just to stage a few "garage" type pics. I DO play with my models! I should've put a bit sewing machine oil (really thin! ) on the hubs, oh well. 🙄 🙄 😯
Outstanding model and images. It makes my smaller 1/43 Cursor version look primitive.

Don't feel bad David, CMC replicas make MANY 1/18 models also look "primitive." 😏 😏
