In 2006, if you were on the highway travelling south west from Hiroshima, you'd better watch your speed or you'd be pulled over by this Subaru Impreza WRX STI interceptor when you enter Yamaguchi Prefecture. STI (Subaru Technica International) provided a potent 305 hp engine and 6 speed manual setup that when employed in Subaru's police variant became a must have for other national police forces from Australia to Austria with the French selling off all their French models for their Gendarme as too slow and imported 63 STIs for their 150mph abilities. This 1966 STI from the Yamaguchi Prefecture represents the national police package with the Subaru grill badge replaced by the 17 petal chrysanthemum, formally the Emperor's symbol and now adopted as the symbol of Japan. Model by AUTOart.
Both interesting and potent. Thanks Rich.
